These scores reflect my perception if the comments from the reviewers are addressed.
I gave a higher score for the novelty as indeed, I have not yet seen an application of the "stretched exponential" to ecological datasets. The data themselves, as far as I understand are not primary data as all have been borrowed, with references from previous research.
As mentioned in the different section, the submission is somewhat premature. There are some very good analysis but also some serious shortcomings. In the discussion, It may be interesting to indeed compare the fit of the proposed model to existing models, particularly for datasets for which the more traditional models fail.
Finally, although it is important to support points of discussion, the number of references is to me unduly long.
